In the world of athletics, few names evoke the thrill of speed and the power of determination quite like Daryll Neita. With a track record that speaks volumes, Daryll has become a symbol of excellence, breaking barriers and setting new standards in the realm of sprinting.
She’s a proven talent both as a team winning two bronze medals and achieving a British record setting performance as part of a quartet in the 4x100m women’s relay in Tokyo 2020 and set a time of 10.9 seconds in the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games that’s placed her as Britain’s second fastest-female ever. With a tremendous start this year winning the 200m in the Shanghai Diamond League ahead of competitors such as USA’s Sha’Carri Richardson, Daryll Neita is stepping closer to gold in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and we couldn’t be prouder to help her do just that.
To help her identify marginal gains in her health to be the best on-the-track and prevent injury & illness risk outside of it, we invited her to have our Everywoman Health MOT at our Great Portland Street clinic in London. Here’s what she had to say:
"Our bodies are our vehicles"
My recent test at Randox Health was really insightful for me because it’s really important to track exactly where I’m at and as athletes, we need every bit of our body fine-tuned and working so I can compete against the rest of the world so it’s nice to do it in regular intervals to track my health status and get as close to those medals as possible.
Regularly reviewing health is important to us for training and fitness especially since we’re professional athletes because our bodies are our vehicles for racing where we pound the ground, reach max velocity and speeds and we’re doing things that aren’t necessarily the most humane things to be doing so just to know your body’s in top-shape to be able to carry out the tasks it needs to do I think is just so important.
Although I’ve not had any recent health concerns, it’s amazing that the Everywoman test discovers things that could help my performance whether it’s how I recover or deficiencies but also our sport is about marginal gains, centimeters, millimetes, the finest of margins and through tests like this, it lets you stay on-top of your health helping you achieve optimal performance or even a mental boost that you’re healthy.
Thanks so much to Randox Health for one of the most in-depth tests I’ve ever had!
My results where good, although l’ve upped my Vitamin D intake as a result & I now have peace of mind as I head into a busy summer of athletics and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
